This is the view from the place where we stayed in New York. Albert's friend is working in the city at the moment and found an amazing flat to live in the Lower East Side, on the 19th floor, with a 20 foot balcony and panoramic views of Manhattan and Brooklyn. Of course, everywhere has its drawbacks, and this place came with an obsessive compulsive live-in landlord (I had no idea it could take ten whole minutes to wipe down a stove after use, or that repotting about 200 plants was a legitimate Saturday morning activity). All in all though, this place was definitely worth it, and to be fair, the landlord was really sweet to us.
My Snoozer Loser skirt has been slumbering for most of the winter, but I thought I'd bring it along on a ride to its hometown. I also spent way too long looking for supposed boutiques that stock their collections so I could splurge on a spring piece, but they simply didn't exist (update your website already, guys). I loved this outfit on the day but I have to say all I can see at the moment are the wrinkles in that shirt... I always recommend people pack stuff that doesn't need to be ironed but I'm awful at taking my own advice...

Snoozer Loser skirt, Alfred Sung shirt, Fly London shoes, self made necklace, and awesome Clarins red lipstick from the Duty Free at Heathrow!
That skirt is just perfect! I've been eying up a similar one in a local shop, but its a little out of my price range :(
ReplyDeleteYou really know how to wear yours though!

Yay! I love that skirt!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's kinda funny about the crazy landlord though ;) I'm glad the location was awesome!

I had a connection at JFK, and I remember looking out the window and thinking NYC looked hilarious. A GAZILLION buildings fit into this itty bitty island. ha :) I'll have to visit sometime!
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is absolutely fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI love the skirt and the shoes.
And what a lovely view you have!
I disagree with you. Under my opinion, you have enought style to wear this shirt without ironing... prety as always.
ReplyDeleteyup, favorite skirt ever... still. i love this outfit! :) also, wrinkles are the new black. or something.
ReplyDeletei could never deal with an obsessive-compulsive landlord, even if it meant panoramic views of the city. i'd probably just end up spending most of my time outside the apartment anyway! i can hardly even deal with my neat freak boyfriend :)
i will always love this skirt and i kind of love the wrinkles:)

ReplyDeleteCute outfit with a fabulous skirt! I really like the photos. Something about the light just takes me back to New York. I've only visited the city once before, but for some reason these photos remind me so much of what it felt like to be there.
ReplyDeleteYour skirt is oh so awesome!!!

The 8-piece skirt
@Kallie: This was pre-moving day for the infamous plants. They were still in the living room at this point!
ReplyDeleteEmily,
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have another reader who uses the name 'A'. That could be confusing. I do not comment on clothes....
Love that skirt, what great print :)
ReplyDeleteLove that skirt! And that view is superb. Glad you enjoyed your time in NYC!
ReplyDeleteYou look right at home here, skirt is amazing and a new label to me, which is always a bonus. There is something pleasingly Rachel Comey like about the shoes as well.

ReplyDeletePor cierto tu español es muy bueno, usualmente lo escribes correctamente y con muy pequeños errores :)
Espero que estés bien y que tengas una buena semana.
Nos vemos!
Sorry to hear you didn't find the boutique. I was waiting to see what you purchased from them. The skirt looks fine. It's a bit wrinkled but the pleats are forgiving. Cute getup lady. Your shoes are cute and look quite comfy.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like there`s a molar hanging on the bottom of your necklace! Is there?
ReplyDeleteWrinkles, schminkles. You still look cute and put-together.
I always like this skirt...now, what is the necklace made of?
ReplyDelete@Monique: the shoes are super comfortable... and I really don't do heels.
ReplyDelete@Terri: the necklace is, if I remember correctly, rock opal, blue turquoise, and sterling silver beads on chain. I was all about the semi-precious stones at my jewellery-making job!
The view looks amazing and I really love this outfit. That skirt is awesome.

Steffys Pros and Cons
This is def one of my most fave outfits of yours :P
ReplyDeleteWrinkles or no wrinkles, your Snoozer Loser skirt really looks good with blue! As far as I'm concerned ironing is overrated, but I think that's only an acceptable excuse for the lazy ;)
ReplyDeleteYou have quite the knack for homemade jewelry. This piece is just as lovely as the ones you've shared in the past.
Ah I love this outfit, going straight to my tumblr. And speaking of it, you didn't got to tell me what is the link of yours!
ReplyDeleteYou look like a doll in that outfit!
