Sunday in Bonn was sunny, and we rode to a neighbourhood that is famous for its cherry blossoms in spring. Unfortunately, they hadn't quite flowered yet, although they were all clustered in tight pink buds just waiting to burst out, but we did find this beautiful tree later in the day. Does anyone know what kind of tree this is. I'm not sure you can tell, but the blossoms are much bigger than cherry blossoms. We have these in Vancouver too, and I always thought they were plum, but having just googled them, they don't seem to be. Any horticultural experts out there? Ok, the consensus is Magnolia, thanks!
We also saw The Artist (the second time for me). I just love movies that leave me feeling happy, optimistic, and like I want to be a tap dancer. Don't you? ; )
It was still pretty chilly, despite the sunshine.

@Raquel: I thought magnolias were white though!
ReplyDeletelooks like magnolia to me! Magnolia usually is pinkish white with darker pink edges. And the pictures are amazing, gorgeous light and setting and you look SO tall and pretty SEXY BABE

Gorgeous photos! That tree has the perfect curve for sitting in, it seems :) There's a magnolia tree on my street that bloomed early because of the heat wave, but we had a storm and now it's nearly bare again...so sad! They're lovely if you can catch them, though, as you did.

Ah, I love the magnolia trees! In my earthquake-condemned home we had a huge one that arched over the driveway outside my bedroom window, and it was so beautiful in spring. Your outfit is perfect too, that dress is so lovely and delicate. Also thanks for reminding me I was asked to do an interview on Smashion like a year ago, better fill it in now!
