This was Easter Sunday... and we went to architectural masterpiece/tourist trap La Pedrera after lunch. Albert and I bought "Art Cards" back in the fall for €25, which get you into seven museums around Barcelona. La Pedrera was one of them, and for a while we thought it was just the exhibition space, which is free anyway. But it was actually the whole building, which is usually €16 or something, so it was a great deal!

We mainly just hung out on the roof in the sunset and enjoyed the panoramic views. Those of you who have been to Barcelona have probably been up here yourselves, so I won't waffle on about it. It's funny how when I get visitors here, I pathologically try and create a not-too-touristy experience, but here on my blog I always seem to be showcasing well-known places. I suppose places like the Gaudí buildings and Els Quatre Gats really are the most photogenic, though not the most representative of the life I love here.

Ha! I do look particularly full of it in these pictures... I was aiming for a "50s movie star on vacation" look though

    Trust me, you do not look full of it, you look great! The pictures and place are fantastic, I loved taking some pictures all over the roof myself when I visited Barcelona, that now seems too long ago! I love your dress and how sweet of Albert to give you that dress. My boyfriend gave me the yellow ASOS dress but I don't think I can even compare that, haha!

    @Raquel: I loved that yellow dress! Albert does hit it out of the park with clothes gifts though. : )

    And we were really lucky with the pictures; the place was closing soon so many people had already left the roof for the other exhibits... usually it's a zoo up there!

I'm so jealous of all your adventures in pretty places, but I do love all your "touristy" photos so keep them coming :) When I finally get a chance to take a break from work and studying, I'm going to just use Ruby Slipper Journeys as my guide to continental Europe!

    You got some really super fantastic photos here Emily! I love the one of you and Albert's shadows on the wall. I know how hard it can be to find a moment of solitude for photo taking. The touristy places in San Francisco are always bustling and busy. You look so lovely in that dress with the dreamiest of collars. And your glasses are spot on for that "50s movie star on vacation" look. I love it!

    You've definitely captured the 'movie star on vacation' look here. What an amazing location for viewing the sunset. The light...the shapes...the colours...shadows... so beautiful. I have to say that the peach shade of your dress against the soft sandy yellow of the architecture is sheer serendipity too!

    Simply beautiful! Although the road less traveled is often exciting and appealing, sometimes there is something magical to those tourist places. Plus for such a great deal, might have been the best place in town to watch the sunset!
