Yesterday the sunshine made a reappearance and mid afternoon I decided to dash out and take some pictures before daylight savings time plunged us into darkness prematurely. I chose to return to the tiny beach in Wapping that I discovered with a friend a few weeks ago, (seen in this post). The sunset was just as beautiful as the last time!
I've been living in some variation of this outfit all week. I'm not normally one for jeans, or pants at all, but since the life-saving, frostbite-preventing arrival of this alpaca sweater (all the way from Ashley in Southern California!) I've been embracing my inner grandpa. Even my lacey crocheted collar is looking distinctly tie-like here!

Outfit:
alpaca cardigan: Three Feathers Vintage
cambric shirt: Pure by Alfred Sung
crocheted tie: random piece of fabric
jeans: Winners
shoes: Steve Madden via ebay
unkempt hair: courtesy of the ridiculous wind tunnels in the underground
Title from The Clash song, naturally.
Your inner grandpa looks awesome! Love that color and the tie.

That sweater looks so comfy, and I love the mustard color too! That is the prettiest little beach too; I like how secluded it looks :). Also, now I can't stop singing those lyrics in my head over and over haha! ;)
ReplyDelete@Rio: I KNOW!! I've had it on repeat for an hour in my head!
ReplyDeleteLove that yellow cardigan!
ReplyDeleteAww. River Thames is beautiful. Your yellow cardign looks nice on you.

Is it the Thames?! Lovely river, lively sweater!
ReplyDeleteEmily--the sweater is beautiful and these photos totally undo my mental images of where you are. I have believed it is ALWAYS overcast there.
ReplyDeleteEmily,
ReplyDeletePictures are beautiful. If you live close to Thames, I am sure you pay a lot. Sometimes I travel to London. I plan to meet Bik....may be I can meet both of you together...but don't know when it is going to happen...does not sound like in any time in near future.
That's a very cool and relaxed look that I wish I can copy. I don't think I'm very good at casual outfits.. ack!
ReplyDeleteYoga and Uggs.. =)

ReplyDeletethat sweater is gorgeous, what a stunning colour x
ReplyDeleteI like the whole look of this outfit, but I adore those shoes and that sweater. Hooray for trying not to freeze.
ReplyDeleteyou look so careless yet amazingly nice in these pictures Emily! I am not usually a pants girl, but have been wearing them quite freqently, and agreed that with this cold weather we should stock up with wool knits and pants or, which I prefer, wool/thickl tights! and speaking about that, today after 3pm got so chilly in London that I almost froze! though I keep seeing wearing shorts, sleeveless shirts and sandals like it was summer! gosh!
ReplyDeleteso anyway I'll be tomorrow at the camden town tube station at the time you said! looking forward to see you! :)
I love that picture of you with the steps and the sign that says "TOWN OF RAMSGATE."
ReplyDeleteAll the elements work really well in that photo :)
