a vision in pink

For the past couple of years, I've been in pursuit of the perfect gingham picnic dress. It probably comes with the territory of sort of naming your blog after The Wizard of Oz. I'm not picky about colour, but I'm picky about almost everything else. This one came and turned out to be more plaid than gingham, so the search goes on, but I've been wearing it loads anyway since it arrived. I'm trying to decide whether to shorten it or not: I feel it's a bit long on me, but at the same time it's nice to cycle around without wondering where my hemline is.

So far no picnics in this dress though, just work and errands, sigh...

P.S. Here was my previous gingham dress purchase... I'm sure I won't stop with two either!

    While it's a pity you haven't managed any picnics in this dress yet, it's still quite a coup to snag a dress suitable for work, errands and picnics :) It looks gorgeous on you even if it's not as gingham-y as you'd have liked :)

    And I know what you mean...I'm like that with shoes...and jeans XD I always think I've fond the perfect one then I see another....

    So adorable! The length looks good in these pictures, but I wouldn't blame you if you shortened it. I just recently shortened a vintage dress that had that dreaded awkward length, and I couldn't be happier with it :)

    To hem or not to hem? I suggest pinning it all the way around and test out if you like the way it looks. The high waist is so flattering and I'm sure the dress will look great either way.
