creature of the night
Guess who got caught out by Daylight Savings Time? :D
One thing I love are nighttime walks. I think it's because I can talk to myself with impunity. When I was a kid I always used to go into my yard, walk around in circles for hours and "play my games," which was making up stories, either from scratch, or featuring characters from books I'd read, or about me and my friends. To this day, I go for long walks whenever I can, and I usually end up talking to myself. Thinking things through is pretty much synonymous with walking and talking to me... one time in Mexico, Albert pulled over on his way home from work to give me a ride and said "did you realize you were talking and gesticulating walking down the street?" I guess I'm destined to be a truly crazy old lady!
But at least I don't go around jumping into other people's photographs.
P.S. After years of colour, colour and more colour... apparently I love black again. Not sure if I'm falling victim to the 90s gothic revival thing, or decided life would be easier if I dressed like Audrey Hepburn, or maybe it's from studying French in the summer... ;)

Actually in love with the colour quality of these photos - and you look lovely too!

I love this all black look on you! And the red coat is the perfect finishing touch :)
I enjoy that man in the last picture, ha ha :) I'm a crazy person too...I talk to myself too sometimes ;)

haha i love that you actually talk out loud to yourself. i love long walks in low light, too. i remember one looooooong walk i sort of accidentally took around the river in boston the summer before my senior year in college and i ended up writing this really epic poem in my head and repeating it to myself over and over until i was able to write it down.
love these photos and totally captures the feel of a night walk.
@Caitlin: We are kindred spirits. :)
Ooh, liking the night time shots, they are great! Your shoes are a wonderful height- where are they from and when?
I was exactly the same as a child! So nice to know it's not just me! I could entertain myself for hours playing games- I did it for hours, stories etc (and wrote my own books!) and to this day, I can entertain myself with my own thoughts and conversations, I think that's why I've never needed any sort of portable music player!
@Kezzie: I never really needed/used an MP3 player either.
The shoes are actually from Marks and Spencer. I got them in the summer, but say them in there the other day as well. They were 19 pounds and are super comfortable and I love them.
love this look. I feel like I'm leaning more and more toward the 90s gothic revival thing. I didnt really get into it during the 90s so now's my chance to go all angsty teenager :)
hahahaha! Oh that guy's face is hilarious! LOVE this all black ensemble, especially those shoezies! I wish I could take night photos, but they never come out right...

Not "crazy", just "unique". And you look great in black.
I had a good giggle at that last photo (: & I know exactly what you mean; walking clears my mind immensely.
Ha, I love nighttime walks too! There is a 24 hr supermarket in a certain distance from my house, so I often combine late-night walks with grocery shopping / designated music-listening time / time alone with my thoughts.
Lately, due to my schedule, I've been running at night (running for excercise's sake), between e.g. 1-2 am.
I gotta say though, if you do actual walks in those (fabulous!) heels, then I truly admire you. :)
@Kay: These heels are actually really easy to walk in (I say this as the worst heels person ever). Having said that, the walk on this particular evening was only as far as the local tea shop.
Haha, that guy really jumped into a photo! Funny man... :) Those yellow-lit photos look like caps from a movie. Love that feeling!
I love how simple and chic your outfit is - you look better than Audrey, Emily! :)

I have to say the black took me by surprise, but I quite like it on you. The red coat adds a nice pop of color. That's such a funny story, I could totally picture the child version of you chatting it up. I love how moody these night shots are.
For a moment there I wasn't sure if I was reading about you or about me. We did grow up in separate countries and a few years apart, right? Right? ;)
Your all black ensemble is beautiful. Or, perhaps tres chic is better suited!
hey there, Audrey Hepburn!
Emily, seriously...we are alike in so many ways. I talk to myself too (haha!!) without even realizing it. I'm always working out my thoughts some way! So we'll look crazy...whatever :)
Well, you wear the black well. I'm told that I talk outloud as I'm writing. This post makes me wonder how many writers do this.
Yes! I have been hating black for SO long but I'm totally into it right now, it feels so easy and chic and flattering. It looks super sexy on you. And I LOVE talking to myself as well, sometimes I do a voice over about my life :D
