Here's a little snippet of Canada to break up all these outfit posts of me wearing plaid. Although I did in fact wear plaid the day we went to Elora, a sweet little town somewhere past Guelph... and that's about all I can tell you since my Southern Ontario geography is pretty wobbly.
Anyway, I found it really pretty, with an old mill, stone buildings, cute shops full of all sorts of artsy bits and bobs (sadly mostly closed that day) and even a nice factory smokestack to keep me happy--I love a good industrial scene. We ate in a pub overlooking the river and went for a brief walk, but were driven into the one open shop pretty quickly as, with windchill, it felt like -20°C or something.

(and nope, nothing in my hair, I think it held so well because I did it when my hair was really wet, that usually helps, ha ha...its still pretty curly today too, I think I like it better than yesterday now that it's been slept on)

Oh my god, I think I would shrivel up and die in that cold. And that's just Southern Ontario! I can't imagine what it's like farther up North. Brave, brave Canadians.
Anyway, the town looks fantastic. Are you originally from Guelph?

what a picturesque town. I really does look beautiful but I dont think I will be visiting in the winter. -20 is way to cold for this Texan :)

I always thought Canada would look crazy different from our landscape (I'm sure there are areas that still do!) but it reminds me a lot of small snowy towns in the midwest. Very lovely photos x

@Julia: nope, I'm from Vancouver. Ontario is pretty new territory to me. As for Guelph, I drove through for the first time on the way to Elora, though I do have a good friend there.

Wow such a beautiful town, I feel sorry for the geese though. I'd love to visit Canada someday, I'd even brave the cold!
@Celia: in fact, none of us could figure out why the geese were there... they should have already migrated south!

i love exploring towns like this--they're not an unfamiliar sight here in the north-eastern USA! (looks cold, though!)
and yes... those jeffrey campbell shoes were one big WTF from start to finish.
Elora looks so quaint. I really enjoying strolling through little towns like this and how they often remind us to slow down and appreciate out immediate surroundings.
