sinful eats

Happy New Year all! I'm just coming down from a week of eating and staying up late, which has prevented my posting for the most part, so expect recap posts of mouth-watering goodies and frightening dark circles under eyes, while I go into January hibernation for a bit. These photos were taken a few days before Christmas, when I dragged Albert for a spontaneous lunch at El Xampanyet. He raised lots of eyebrows at me, because it's the kind of place that's in all the tourist guides, but I didn't hear any further arguments after they brought us potatoes with molten cheese and chorizo on top. I myself am a big fan of the home-made sparkling wine, and the dessert of biscotti dipped in Moscatel...

I always give myself a mental gold star outfit-wise when I've owned everything I'm wearing for more than a year. This is one of those. I've had the dress for about three years, the coat for nine, the sweater for a whopping 14, and the bag and hat were both stolen from my mom who had them for who-knows-how-long. I get a happy smug feeling of "I know what I like and I make sensible purchases" when this happens. :)

Love the outfit!! And yes, I love when I'm wearing all old stuff, it's fun :D
All that food looks and sounds quite tasty! But I'm so picky I probably wouldn't like it...

This outfit gets a solid 10 out of 10 from me and this also looks like the perfect day. I'm dying to go back to Spain and eat myself into a coma and take in all the pretty buildings

You take lovely photographs. And you did indeed make sensible, classic wardrobe choices all those years ago! I'd never have imagined that sweater came from 14 years ago!

Wow, you've been out and about since I've visited this space last. Gah, Berlin is one of my favorite cities so great you got to go back there again.

Oh and on Christmas apart from family. Josh and I spent one Christmas in Argentina and it was loads of fun but so different then time spent with family.

I really enjoyed catching up on what you've been up to. Cooking classes, traveling. I hope 2013 brings just as much adventure as the last couple of years. Cheers lady.

i can never believe you dislike winter outfits becuase you do them so well. that red coat is perfect on you w/ the dress & i love hearing you've made your pieces last. funny about the tourist place, we generally tend to avoid them too but that one sounds deliscious and looks really cute.

I like that smug thrill of creating great outfits with older pieces of clothing, too. I just purged my closet and have filled three big bags to donate. Phew! And, while doing so, I found that I was keeping older items. I really want to focus on sensible purchases this year instead of frivolous ones (although there may be a few of those coming up. One last hurrah, so to speak ;)

Guide books or not, these morsels look so good! Those potatoes!
