how i long to look this summer part 2

I've been tumblr-ing lately. I started it a few months ago but didn't use it much and was determined not to be one of those people who is addicted to it... but I am anyway. In fact, I think tumblr has been amazing for helping me see exactly what it is I like. Which, for summer seems to be yellow (no surprises), simple, simple simple dresses (which I don't have and therefore am coveting but will not be buying--why does simplicity come with such a large price tag?). I'm also pretty partial to John Lennon sunglasses, shoes that I could chill with Picasso in, and infectious happiness of all kinds.
You can find my tumblr here, if you're interested, and I'm also now on twitter, although I'm a bit clueless and unimpressed with twitter. ; )

It Girl, Rag Doll and Pushing Daisies (I'm watching Pushing Daisies again--really one of the best shows ever to be unfairly cancelled)

I got a twitter account just to pump my blog feed through automatically but recently I've been getting into it a bit more :) Tumblr was an instant hit for me too though. I can forgive the frequent outages with such a pleasant platform. Mindmeld in pictures :D
the necklace is so cute!
ps)pushing daisies was one of my favourite- this forbidden touch stole my heart :D
I'd love to see you in a simple yellow frock!
I just followed you on Twitter. I was also a late comer to Twitter. I quite like it now. I like checking it to see what's happening in Cape Town.
Anthea,

Beautiful summer inspiration!!
summer! woo! all lovely inspiration. i have a tumbler but i never use it. maybe i should start
I also want lots of yellow for my summer ;)
simple dresses, lennon glasses & yellow is exactly my summer wishlist too! i'm excited to follow your tumblr & twitter. i try so hard not to be on a skillion social networking sites but to no avail.. haha
thanks for including me here! i'm feelin' yellow too! as well as red! which is a color i hardly wear.
tumblr is great for finding inspirational photos. I get a lot of ideas for photos and/or outfits from it. I started following your tumblr :)
I LOVE tumblr too, I see it as the heart of inspiration behind my blog. I'm already a follower :)
btw no I wouldn't post a picture of myself in the nude on my blog, and the reason is: because society has brainwashed people into thinking certain things about you if you post nude pics of yourself on the net/if you walk around nude in public places :D not because I'm ashamed, not because I think it's slutty, just because of the connotations it gets. I figure: I would walk around in a bathing suit on the beach, so why be all prissy about having pics of me in my bathing suit online? If you go on holiday to a beach you probably upload bikini pics to fb too so that makes it acceptable, right? :D
over here it is accepted to tan topless too, but people would still look at you funny. It's okay but still noticed, if you catch my drift. Society's values find their place inside your head whether you like it or not, so I wouldn't feel comfortable posting my boobs online unless it was way artsy or something, haha :D Motives are pretty much all muddled up.
absolutely perfect summer looks! i would have to agree with every picture :) and i loved pushing daisies! i was really sad when they cancelled it xo
i am addicted to tumblr.
it is were i get a lot of inspiration from.
i loooooove the second picture..i need that whole outfit.
xoox
Man, what a lovely combination of photos. I long for summer right now- especially because it's all of 5 degrees here, and overcast too.
I'm yet to succumb to the evils of Tumblr, somehow. I think mostly it's kinda silly, and reflects one of the problems I have with blogging and the internet, where people just pass around the same images in favour of creating original content. I love tumblrs that have lots of original pictures and writing and are personal, but there's only so many skinny white girls with long hair and cut-off denim shorts in overexposed photos I can stand, y'know?
End rant! Sorry!
Oh I loved that first image by the Sartorialist too!
i am in love with that bunting-inspired necklace. i might have to find a way to make one!
I know simple does seem to come with the heavy price, which doesn't really make sense.. the lennon glasses are to my liking too, yes to yellow and lots of it :)
Love the necklaces so much. These photos are so summery, makes me want to go to the beach and bum all day long. :)
Great picks!
I love that light blue dress. So comfy and airy. Keep us posted on how you get on with twitter...look at you lady your covering all you social networking bases. Hope your off to a good week!
love all the summer inspiration!
i can't wait for summer, either! these are such inspirational photos!

omg blue and yellow dressessssss...I want!
I can totally see you rocking Lennon sunglasses. Even though I don't know you in person, I somehow feel that's totally you :)
@ Caitlin: I'm planning on making one too!
@Ashley: my taste in sunglasses seems to get more bizarre the older I get... I'm off to browse Lennon glasses today!
@Georgia Rose: I wrote a big reply, which blogger deleted (I hate you, blogger), but essentially: I hear you. That's why I resisted for month (that and limited time). But I found I was saving lots of pictures to my hard drive anyway, and it seemed more sensible to post them online. I don't consider it as a substitute for original content however... that's what this blog is for! And no denim cut offs allowed either, though I can't help being a white girl!
Pushing Daisies, gingham, yellow, bunting! <3
When I first signed up for Tumblr I didn't really know what to do with it. Now I find it relaxing to search for photos and compile them in my little space.
