stormy weather

It actually didn't turn stormy this particular day, though it made threatening wind-in-the-trees noises often enough that I was sure it was going to pour down. A simple holiday Monday: another bike ride, a coffee in a very strange place where apparently you had to be middle aged and rich; we looked like aliens. Some photos by the river, and then we glanced again at the dark skies and shot home again, me riding with one hand and trying to keep my hat on with the other!

Aaahhh, these are my favorite pictures of yours EVER! They're so picturesque and pretty, they look like they're out of a dreamy film. I love the boats on your dress, your frilly ankle socks, your classic shoes, your fun nails, and your lovely hat. This whole post is just wonderful! :)

P.S. And to answer your question about the books tied together with a belt, yes, it did stay together really well. It would have been a bit more stable if I used books that were all the same size, but it still worked well and was really cute. :)

Great outfit, perfect setting.

And, again, you intrigue me with your unexpected mix of youth and maturity, innocence and sophistication. I don't know how you manage to pull this off, but you do. Maybe it's the socks... :)

@A Closet Fashionista & Albert: Yeah, but I also had to really lighten the curves in some of these pictures to get my face bright enough.

That dress gets more amazing every time I see it. And I quite like colorful nail polish :)

I also feel compelled to tell you how much I like the second photo! The composition and movement have a really nice flow. There you are, the slightly off-center focal point, lookin' all prettylike and then the eye sweeps along the riverbank to the cloudy blue-hued mountains in the background. How lucky you are to have an Albert that captures such scenes! :)

I adore this boat dress and how savvy you were to get on ebay and find it. I like how you restyled it this time around...that hat is sweet. The clouds look amazing in these photos. I'm back from my blog hiatus and playing catch up. Your new bike is amazing and that yellow dress is just superb. Your non dressy post is classic and comfy. I still love that dress, And you wearing your hat makes me question myself on why the heck did I left my two hats in London, while it's obvious they'd be much more useful here. -.-

Sorry to turn up on your blog and comment everywhere, but I've just stumbled across it and you seriously have the looks/hair of a twenties movie star. Lucky girl!

Emily, Ruby Slipper Journeys said...

Ha! No problem! The general look... maybe. The hair...I wish! I actually want to cut it in a 20s-esque style, but know that it will spend most of its time looking stupid so...

You look so pretty! I love the print on that dress. Seriously, could it be any cuter? And your socks are DARLING.
