A number of you asked where I was packing up to this time, and the answer is... back to Barcelona! Too familiar for you all from previous blog entries? Well, not for me. I found myself at a point in life where changes were happening, but I desperately craved something familiar and mine. With my family literally all over the place geographically, I chose this city which I consider to be my second home of sorts. This probably wasn't the smartest decision from some points of view (hello 20% unemployment rate and crap wages), and I'm not sure if this will be a future-defining move, but for now, I'm glad to be back. And more particularly, to be back doing photoshoots in my old stomping ground, Parc de l'Espanya Industrial... a beautiful, diverse and underrated park which has featured in so many outfit posts it probably deserves a retrospective on the blog. Hmmm. In the meantime, get a load of that dragon sculpture in the background of the first picture. It has three heads and consists of various slides... so playground and public art in one! Designed by Andrés Nagel, you can see a more complete and impressive picture here.

As for the outfit, in case it wasn't obvious, it's basically still summer in Barcelona, which I'm glad of, as it allows me to finally showcase this crop top I bought back in April....

Welcome to the city!!!!
It's dificult to talk about unemployment and job opportunities. Don't forget your english is fluent (obbiously) and as you know, this is an important stronghold.
Nice outfit, good luck.

Glad to hear your happy in Barcelona! I definitely envy your ability to pick up and move, and find what makes you happy. I'm feeling rather stuck and moving somewhere new isn't a possibility right now, but someday! Lots of luck, lady :)
Also, this outfit very nearly makes me miss summer weather. The buttons on that skirt are such a cute detail, and I love the crop top.

I had no idea that was a dragon in the first photo until I read on. It's so obvious now it kinda hurts. Oh well :P

Beautiful outfit, Emily. I really like the cascade of blues. Enjoy the remnants of summer and all the familiarity that Barcelona brings you.

Yay back in Europe :) Are you going to try and find a "proper" job then? Barca is such an amazing city so why not move here? Hope you find something soon! xx

@Rachel: At the moment I'm just teaching English and doing some writing... Barcelona's not that great for "proper" jobs, but if I decide to stay I'll hopefully start looking for one.

unemployment- sounds like the perfect time for a change of scenery. no matter what happens, it will definitely be "future defining", you will always look back at the adventure with fondness and appreciation of perspective.

This sort of reminds me of Roman Holiday. Hope all is well in Barcelona. <3

I used to play there as a child, man how I loved the dragon slide! Then the dragon closed due to lack of maintenance for years and the park also became a rather dodgy spot, which I guess has to do with it being underrated nowadays.

Welcome back, glad to see someone appreciates this neverending summer ;)

PS. such a pretty top by the way!

These pictures are beautiful and you look beautiful as well (not saying you don't always do!) The outfit is really neat and simple, as I'm really more and more into!
Are these with your new camera (which is it???), the images look better.

aww you look so adorable here, you pull off this look perfectly with those milkmaid braids! Wow, didnt' realize the unemployment rate was so high over there, but does it include students who purposely don't work to get unemployment? I heard of that quite a bit when I was there, but maybe I happened up lots of scammers as it sure doesn't sound normal to me haha.

So THAT"S why it's so sunny! Lucky girl :)

I can see how such a generous helping of summer might make up for low wages :D
Looking great - I want to try those slides now..
