better red than dead

I have sooo much fun thinking up locations for photoshoots, you have no idea! Some, like last posts cozy little office, are happy accidents, and some like today are the result of my fixating on an idea and not letting it go, and generally being a real pain until it happens. I don't feel bad though, because the excursion to Tibidabo was loads of fun as well as being the best backdrop ever...

Tibidabo is the name of the hill behind Barcelona (quite close, if you've ever seen a lighted church on a hill at night, that's the one). In addition to the church there's an amusement park dating back to the early 1900s, a massive telecoms tower, and a panoramic view of the city. Most of the rides are closed for much of the winter, but we did go on the carousel (I looooooovvvve carousels) and the funny little red plane.

The cute little tram is about the only means of transport we didn't take to get here!

eeeee! carousel!

Tram seems very interesting. How long does it take on this tram? I am sure tram ride is fun too.

Erm, I didn't actually take the tram but I imagine about 10 minutes. We walked from the metro to the funicular railway which goes up the mountain, but we could have taken the tram.

I love your top. I saw a dress in that print which I almost bought recently. I like the whole outfit. Your pictures are so fabulous. They are so fun, bright and happy. Thanks for your last comment on my blog. Your cat must have been very beautiful. My cat who I had for thirteen years died last year so I know what its like. I miss her so much too.

Love the BIG alphabet blocks and the carousel (unicorn!)

I remember when I finally got to take night shots lit by car headlights (I don't have a car) I was so pleased I 'm surprised I didn't explode with happiness. ;) Dedicated bloggers. A law onto themselves?! :D

Tibidabo - I've been there!! My husband spent a semester in Barcelona and I visited him for a week. This was one of the places we went - such great pictures!

Delightful post, Emily! Your excitement over the carousel got me excited, too! It's been far too long since I've been on one - they really are the best!

Also, loving the red blouse with the red jeans.

um that blouse was MADE for you!! You're looking good lady! Also, Grant went to this very same place two years ago and brought me back a post card and ever since I have always wanted to visit! I'm such a sucker for anything remotely whimsical and old amusement parks certainly fit the bill :)

What beautiful photos! I love a good carousel.

I like the red britches! And all of the carousel photos. It's funny, but I'm becoming the same way about photo locations. I've been thinking of starting a little notebook and keeping track of the predominant color of buildings in my area. How weird is that?

Aw, too cool, an empty fairground! It looks brilliant in the daylight. I'd be terrified at night, though... very Scooby Doo.

This is such a cool location! How did I miss this when I was in Barcelona? So lovely! And I love that your outfit matches the ferris wheel - is that by design or a happy coincidence? :)

I love this outfit! It sounds like a really fun day too. Who doesn't love carousels? I'm hunting down the perfect carousel horse for my future home. :)

Raquel said...

Ohh I've been there last year Em! Though the weather was a lot worse than this, it was raining, the amusement park was closed and freezing cold (in March!).
Love the outfit, it seems the perfect one for riding the carousel!! :)

PS: I couldn't resist and got the Zara ankle boots I wanted! Though I was really needing that kind of shoes and also my aunt gave me the money so I am cheating saying I didn't break my shopping ban haha!
