little toy trains

Let's say this was one of those days where you wonder what on earth you're doing taking off your nice wool coat at 5 degrees celsius to prance around on a children's playground. But after a few twirls, you decide life's not so bad after all.

I was bad recently and bought this dress. But that's what we work for right? To be bad occasionally?

Right, I'm off. I've been spending this week of vacation (there were two bank holidays this week in Barcelona and I took three days off) working on my poor children's novel, which always seems to get prioritized somewhere after work, the blog and a host of other necessary evils. But not this week! It's gratifying to be making some progress again. Maybe draft #2 will even be done by Christmas? That would really be a present to myself!

Before we talk about the star of this show, can we applaud a supporting player? Your shoes have very interesting design and sophisticated colors.

Okay, now on to the main attraction. You frequently wear clothes that give a hint of childlike innocence and, when viewed in contrast to your worldly maturity, are a delight. This dress fits that bill. I envy your ability to create this impression.

What a wonderful dress! I love the color! And I think we all need to prance around in playgrounds every now and then :)
Also, I totally want to read your children's novel!

That dress is amazing, a good purchase you don't have to feel guilty about at all!! I love this photo set, very theatrical!

I'm thinking I need to stop taking my coat off to. The foot of snow on the ground is trying to tell me something I think...

I love your dress! It reminds me of my childhood, probably because these photos are in a playground too ;)
I say if it just for pictures I don't mind freezing for 5minutes, my jaw just drops when I actually see people with just a t-shirt in 3ºC haha, but I should be used to it by now, it's London after all!

Lovely dress (adore the cut of the cuffed sleeves) and whoa! those shoes are crazy amazing :)

Oh man, Stef's comment is hilarious. I've found that taking outfit pictures in the snow isn't all bad if I focus more on getting it done & over with than on the temperature. Well, once I'm out there, that is. Sometimes getting outside is the biggest hurdle. Perhaps you could put in some practice when you're in Ontario, hehe :)

I'd say this dress purchase was completely justifiable. The color, collar and sleeve cuffs give it such a fun vibe. And the button placket is pretty darn sweet.

I think it's okay to be bad now and then if it means buying a dress that is THIS good! Seriously, you look WAY too cute :)
