life is beachy

My sister, my boyfriend and I spent the weekend in Puerto Vallarta and had a great time! I was sure to, since I just really wanted to go to the beach, but Puerto Vallarta was actually even better than I expected. Since it was a place I'd heard of even from Canada, I assumed it would be crazy touristy. There are certainly a lot of tourists, but there's also still a town feel to some of the old streets, a beautiful seawall full of statues, and views of unspoilt mountains. We had a great two days!

Anthea, of one of my favourite new blogs Embracing Style, recently posted about the crochet comeback. To be honest, I hadn't really thought of it as a comeback before that point, and my initial thought was, "nah, I'll give that a miss." I associated crochet with my grandparents bringing back endless supplies of style-less crochet and tie-dye from their trips to Cuba....
But then my sister showed up with this shirt my mom had brought us back from, yep, Cuba, and I remembered that I actually really liked this shirt, and always wanted a hot-weather excuse to wear it. So here I am, cruising along with the crochet comeback!

Yes, this is a man paddling his dog along on a raft. Why? I have no idea, but the dog didn't seem to mind!

1. I like that crochet top, it vaguely reminds me of the Rodarte crotchet pieces a few seasons back!
2. When I was on vacation I too saw a man paddling out with his dog in tow...I didn't get it at all.
3. Puerto Vallarta!! Looks so great, it probably wasn't touristy since spring break isn't going on for American college students right now..it's a mess in March-April. Have you been to Mazatlan? I was going to go a few months ago but then couldn't!

truth be told, i have to agree that milan was a very "meh" city. the duomo is deceiving--it was the only really cool part of the city.

ps i am super jealous that you are a) on the beach and b) traveling right now!!!

Glad you guys had fun! Crochet never really went out for me haha! Living by the beach, we have our own idea of 'style' even though it doesn't always match up with reality!!! :)

Ah, the beach. The title of your last post, "vamos a la playa" made me grin. I looovvee going to the beach. In fact, I spent my weekend along the coast, as well.

These photos of Puerto Vallarta are lovely. I've always thought that if I ever end up vacationing in Mexico I'd like to stay in someplace like Puerto Vallarta rather than some of the other destinations tourists flock to. You certainly can't go wrong with unspoiled views and an old town feel.

It's hard to find a nice crochet piece with it being everywhere and all, but yours is terrific. It has a great shape and the cascading colors keep it from being drab.

This place is beautiful. I wish I was at the beach right now! The weather here is a little chilly and I'm craving Summer again.

Thanks for visiting my blog :) I haven't tried the group gym classes yet, I might have to give them a go!
