Pink Lady

As promised, here is what I wore to the ballet the other day. I've had this dress for a few years and love it to pieces, yet for some reason I always think it's too fancy to wear to most places. This could be because the places I've lived that are warm enough to wear it (Barcelona and Puebla) are very casual in their dress codes. And also perhaps, because I have never worn very much pink. Either way, it's a bit silly, since it's really quite a simple cotton dress.

Regardless, the ballet turned out to be a perfect occasion to give this dress its spin of the season, and I even found a colour coordinated French style mansion on the way home to really show it off!

Bonus points if you can spot the pervy Mexican man (one of many who make taking outfit shots rather fraught in Guadalajara)

Oh bonus points attained! Haha! I love the soft pink color of your dress! I am right there with you on thinking things are too fancy even if most people don't! Anytime I wear something other than jeans and a tank, I'm like hmmm maybe too fancy... :)

Spotted! I'm awfully uneasy about taking outfit shots by myself anywhere relatively public. People are just too unpredictable.

Your dress is absolutely darling. I really like where you chose to photograph it, too. It would be fun to prance around the grounds of such a house in a dress like that.

It has always annoyed me, however slightly, when I'm dressed in something and someone asks, "What are you all dressed up for?" A few frills here or there or, gasp, even a dress shouldn't always be deemed as fancy. But, I suppose it really boils down to the place and what people are accustomed to.

RE: I really enjoy the anticipation surrounding a completed roll of film. I had a recent roll turn out to be a total bust, but other times the unexpected happy accidents turn out to be quite the prize.

It is a pretty dress and the pictures are nicely shot. I like your shoes but your self made bracelet is barely visible.

Thanks everyone!

@Kiran: Oops, I guess that's true. I originally had a close-up of the bracelet but it didn't make the cut. It shows up elsewhere on the blog, however!

You look so gorgeous in that dress! lovely photos.

I study creative writing and my minor is sexuality studies/women's studies. I really liked my writing workshops but now I'm totally focusing on gender studies and it is my love! I would have loved to go to school for fashion too...maybe one day.
