cozy evening in
I've been in half a mind about whether to post these photos or not. On the one hand, they were taken in low light, and are accordingly slightly fuzzy. On the other, I love the mood, which perfectly captures some early evenings in my little room. I actually took two sets of pictures, one set with flash and one without. But by the time I'd finished grubby-ing up the flash pictures enough to recreate the low-light atmosphere, they were almost as fuzzy as the originals...
I'm interested to know what you all think: are they too fuzzy to post, or does it not bother you? And does anyone have any tips on low-light photography (keeping in mind that I don't have a DSLR or anything like that). I suppose an intermediary solution would be to buy more little lamps. Or just organize my time better and shoot during daylight hours!
Moving on, I'll just spare some love for the tartan lumberjack shirt. I nearly got rid of this years ago, and my mother wisely saved it from the chopping block. It's a proper man's lumberjack shirt, given to my mother many years ago by a friend of my grandfather's. It's pure wool and about the coziest thing ever. I've been living in it, though I've given it a bit of a break since one of my flatmates commented that it and my plaid pyjamas were a headache-causing combination!
Outfit:
shirt: old, hand-me-down
belt: Spitalfields market
skirt: Urban Outfitter's (stolen from my sister)

Honestly, picture are perfect. Show exactly what you mention 'mood'. I like low light pictures. I will post some but yours are far superior.
linda!! linda!! linda!!!

adorei as fotos! diferente!

I would not have complained about these "low light" photos at all if you hadn't brought it up! I'm not an expert and I'm sure I'll have much to learn about lighting in the months to come.
The mix of patterns here is very nice. And I'm sure the lumberjack is cozy.
me like the shirt. :D
I like the lighting and mood of these photos! Very cozy and wintery... love it! :) I also really like your comforter... much nicer than my sleeping bag that's serving as a comforter for the time being haha! ;)
I don't think the fuzziness looks bad at all, especially since you said it captures the mood of the early evening. I agree with Rio, the photos look very cozy and wintry.
Good call on your mother's part for saving the shirt. You can't go wrong with anything that's wool, red plaid, and however slightly resembling a lumberjack. Hehe ;)
I love the shirt and don't think the photos are too fuzzy! (:
love the mood:)
it's great that you've posted the pictures.
the 4th picture is my favorite.

i love how personal these are.
i'm not sure whether you can set shutter speed but that would work...
buy more little lamps or a better camera ;)

@Hiven: Indeed! But I think for the next year while I'm studying and unemployed, more little lamps might have to do! ; )
Looks great :)
amazing pictures as always!! They look so cozy (if that is the right word)
loving your shirt/dress as well

I like the pictures! And they look so warm and cozy ... also personal as one of the readers said! :)
It's so difficult to take nice photos during autumn and winter! The light vanishes very quickly and you don't know if the photos you take are good enough to post them.
It doesn't bother me, everybody would like to take and post "perfect" photos in their blogs but sometimes it isn't possible. So I try to be easy with that issue.
By the way, I love tartan clothes.
yep, i include shipping in the totals...the dress was only $20.50 and then shipping added to that...ew, haha
cozy nights in are sometimes so necessary...good in your mom for saving that jacket! i get rid of things all the time and then regret it immensely!

i really like the quality of the photos here, the fuzziness is really nice! i think the flash is way too stark, but its so difficult getting daylight pics now its so dark in the evenings! you look so cosy in your shirt! :)
thank you for your comment also! & yes i'm taking a huge suitcase with me so plenty of options! :)

I actually like these kind of pictures, and they look so personal. And I'm so nosy that I love to see bloggers houses, rooms and so, haha! And another reason to love these pictures is also the lumberjack shirt! I don't have one, though I might find one in London! :)
@ Raquel: You surely will! They are everywhere, and there are some particularly nice ones at Uniq-lo, or however you spell that shop...
Love the bed spread! I know you asked about the pictures, but my eyes were on the bed spread...
Thanks NRIGirl! I love the bedspread too! And now I feel justified in being the pickiest bedspread buyer ever, and even taking another one back. Plus this one was only $15! Bo-nus!
I have a shirt like yours. I love plaid pattern!
i love the photos.
xx
Nice photos, I love your shirt ♥

I like the photos! I think the fuzziness adds to the mood. Sorry I have no solutions, as I'm battling with this problem too, more and more, since the days are now shorter. Love the shirt xxx

I know shooting at night is a tough one.. even with an SLR! Really is too bad all my best outfits come out at night.
Gotta say, these shots look great.

The Pleated Top to Office
nice pics ;)
I think the photos are lovely! The 2nd shot in particular is just beautiful.
I love your lumber jack shirt. It's got me thinking about raiding my hubby's closet.
Oh, and your bedspread is fantastic too.
Leaving the House in THIS?!?!
I like the lighting of the pictures a lot! They are...kinda mysterious. Also, your comforter looks uber comfy. I guess that's why it's called a COMFORTer. ha.
It's interesting that the Americans have all been calling it a comforter actually. I just call it a duvet cover!
