rain rain go away

Hi everyone,
Sorry for being a bit MIA this week; I've been registering for classes and looking for a flat. Neither activity has been very successful so far... I want to take more classes than I am able to, and I'm not having much luck with the flats either. I saw one today that was pretty much perfect, but I couldn't wrap my head around the scandalous price of it. By the time I had resolved to pay that much, it was gone. The last one I went to see tonight was gone before I even got there--infuriating. And to top it off, every time I set foot out the door, it immediately starts to rain. I've gotten soaked so many times now it's not even funny. After the flat, an umbrella and a few more scarves to wear on my head and another jacket are a priority.

These aren't my pictures, I've been much too busy to take any, but I'll give you all another Mexican post tomorrow.

I am sorry. Hope you get your flat to your liking (and price) soon. These are cold rains. If the rain is warm I would love that.

Bleh what a bummer! I'm sure it'll work out for you soon, and then hopefully you'll be glad you didn't settle for a way too expensive place! Good luck lady! ;)

Sorry to hear that dear, sometimes registering for classes may be very tiring. But no worry, soon you'll have founded a beautiful flat and an affordable timetable, ok?

Loads of kisses.

I'm looking for a new place too, and my search is going about as well as yours is. Good luck to us both.

I've never been to London, but rain is always in my mental image of the place.

Better luck this coming week on finding a place. How many classes are they allowing you to take?

Gosh, I guess what they say about it always raining there is true! Good luck finding a place, I know that is super stressful.

All these frustrations will lead to wonderful things, I'm sure :)

Emily,

Good luck to you. Eventually you will find an apartment you are looking for. But probably it is best to take care of classes first. I assume you got the courses you were interested in but you want more course.

London is (un)popular for rain but my experience (very little of few days) that it rains heavily and suddenly but then it stops...in last trip suddenly it started raining but stopped after pouring for 15/20 min. Happened on all days several times...

Hi Emily,

Sorry you have been getting virus messages on my blog. I do not have any control over it as it is blogger/google server. I hope it goes away soon.
I hope you find a flat of your choice soon and settle soon. All the best.

Hi Emily, thanks for your comments about the videos on my blog. Even in my mum's day she would always wear a hat if going up "to the West End" (I think that meant "real" London in East Enders terms - she'd love that mirror in your friends' flat!). Shall we try to revive the tradition?

I see your point about Fanny Brawne, although she does seem to consider sewing fundamental to everything (eg. her reaction to Tom's death is to whip out the needle and thread). I got the impression there was less sewing towards the end just because she was too busy being in love...

Good luck with the flat-hunting and with signing up for classes. I know it's frustrating, but it's also so exciting!

Hmm.. perhaps you can do some classes next semester? And I hope you have more luck with finding a flat - I understand how tiring it can be trying to get the right one!

Ugh.. I wish it'd stop already too. And the wind is howling like a crazy dog - I guess I had that coming living in a flat place like this (I am a tad North East of you in Cambridge).

Hope your flat hunt looks up soon. I know what you mean about pricing. There's a direct train to London from here so we get to pay an arm and a leg for shoebox sized homes here too.. grrr

I love such mistery in the pictures.

rain can totally bog a person down, huh!

Good luck flat hunting - unfortunatley it can be a bit of a nightmare here. As for the rain, hopefully it'll ease up soon. The first picture is very classic.

you might benefit from talking to my friend in London. She's grown up there and may be able to guide you in the right direction for flats :)

Here is her blog...she's also UBER friendly and helpful!

Good luck with finding a flat and registering!

Oh and those weren't real spectacles on my blog. They're sunglasses (100% UV resistant). So weird! But I am not complaining.
