last day in guadalajara

Photobucket

Photobucket

These are my last pictures from Guadalajara. That's not a promise or anything, because I'm sure I still have some in a random folder, and one day when I'm lazy or busy... however, from now one, we'll be transitioning into London!

These were taken on my last day, when I was feeling contented and nostalgic at the same time. And I was saying goodbye to my lovely vintage bicycle, which I don't believe I've introduced you to before, despite riding it every week down the closed streets on a Sunday morning (a great recreational initiative in Guadalajara). I was so sad to leave it and its lovely green colour and "1977" sticker. Usually my bikes have function over form; this one was the opposite. I know that stuff isn't so important in life, but sometimes it's hard to let go of nonetheless. Still, my boyfriend managed to sell it for more than we paid for it, and I did turn a little against it when it pulled a thread out of my dress. Don't you hate it when your vintage bike attacks your vintage clothes? Hehe ; )

Ah well, adios bici, and Mexico. It was fun.

My bike frequently attacks my tights. Grumpy old thing. Sounds like a mule too. Maybe one day I'll cover it in duct tape all over and my clothes will be safe at last. ;)

Last day in Guadalajara! I can see sadness in your face.

That looks like the perfect bike! Not when it ruins your vintage pieces of course. In that case, it'll need some time out! I've been shopping around for one myself, but still can't quite decide.

Your dress is gorgeous! Love the embroidery details and the cardi you've paired with it! Hope you're settling into Greenwich okay

If your outfit wasn't so stinkin' cute I would have done nothing but stare slack jawed at your fantastic bike!!

Looking forward to some London pics though I will definitely miss the beauty of Guadaljara!

the dress is lovely. Seems to have less of the embroidery than similar dresses of this type.

Looks lovely there. And I'm enthralled by that bike!

Nice outfit! I love cardigans. <3

Unfortunately I have never had a vintage bike to attack my vintage clothes - although perhaps that's a good thing. ;-) Nonetheless it is a very pretty bike. I wish I had a bike with those - wheel cover thingies.... Well, hopefully you know what I'm talking about. ;-)

I love love your dress! I have been looking for a Mexican-type dress for so long... been stalking ebay and the like. You solidified my sartorial need! :-)

The embroidery on that dress is so beautiful. I'm freaking out over your bike, it is perfection. I've been trolling craigslist forever for a bike but the ones in my price range are like huffy mountain bikes circa 1996. Harumph!!! ;(

awww i love your bike, i'm so jealous! i have an old vintage one that is a tiny bit smaller and it's bright blue! but it's cute :) i would rather have a green one sinceit's my favorite color =)

Thank you for the Sherlock Holmes recommendations. I appreciate it and hope to make time for the books/films soon. Oh no, I don't mind period pieces in the least bit. Sometimes, as slow as they are, I prefer them to many modern films.

Ah, there's that pretty vintage dress again! I very much like its white and greens with your blue cardigan. And,perhaps you can procure a less-violent vintage bike while in London! ;)

Hey Emily!

Ahh another bike enthusiast!!

Your comments are always so appreciated! and i am in total agreement with you - i was actually really happy with your post!...it is a completely different (and refreshing) take/representation...VERY unlike the tommy hilfiger ad you described, where the little boy is wearing a head dress.

This outfit is so fun, and kinda just feels like mexico with some flair to me! And I love your bike! I know what you mean about material things, when I studied abroad there were so many things and little places I missed from home like crazy, but I realized that I could find a whole bunch of new and fun places to explore and love in England!
