snow snow faster! We've finally gotten some snow! It already seems to be melting/turning into a skating rink on the street, but I'm not complaining.

I find that the days between Christmas and New Years take on a curious sense of lethargy. The excitement and lights of Christmas are over, New Years Eve is, for me anyway, a bit of a sparkling afterthought, not requiring a great deal of preparation, but bookending the holiday season. And the days between the two are a time to wear flannel and everything else cozy, to curl up on the couch reading new books and watching old favourite films. I bought this dress last winter but never had a chance to photograph it before spring came. It really is perfect for these cold, snowy, December days.

I want your snow! I've wanted white Christmas since forever, not that it will ever happen here but one can dream right? ...You have just described my life the last couple of days, staying cozy and doing not much! Adore your dress, so cute! Happy New Year!

Emily, the snow is the perfect backdrop for that dress and your hair in a braid goes so well with the dress. I've been eying a black and white dress with red piping on etsy and seeing yours is motivating me to get it. Your sister is quite the photographer. These are lovely pics. Happy New Year lady!

You look absolutely darling, as usual. I love the happy trim on the dress! I've been thinking about making a purchase from Family Affairs, actually - are you happy with the quality?

Yeah, NYE is kind of whatever for me, too. I'm at home for it every year and there's never anything really exciting going on, so why stress about it?

@Alicia: I'm very happy with the quality. The flannel is soft and cozy and I love both the creativity of the red appliqués, and the fact that they're corduroy. My one tiny complaint is that I find the dress a difficult length for us mortals, but looking at the pictures, I think maybe it's just a case of getting used to it!

Ha ha, I love how everyone goes crazy for the snow! It does make the Holidays extra magical and makes for the coolest pictures... then we've had enough and it should go away, he he! We've had snow non stop for a month here and it's getting insanely cold, makes me wish I could visit you in Barcelona this winter!

I adore the plaid dress, I think that's one thing that is missing from my closet and yours is a great inspiration (love the red details so so much!).

All my very best wishes to you and your family for the New Year!!!

Between Christmas and New Years I feel very lethargic, too. I lose track of what day is what and of time, too. Part of Christmas break, I guess.

I love the contrast of that dress against the falling snow. I love plaid. :)

What a fine dress, Emily! It fits so well into your wardrobe and, might I add, looks great with your polka dot tights.

And snow! We're still waiting for some down here. The whole onset of winter and the holiday season has felt off due to the lack of consistent snow.
